Lucky Dog Hot Sauce Brown Label – Mustard Chipotle

Lucky Dog Brown Label just might be their most approachable sauce yet – especially for the general hot sauce loving public. With a line-up that includes mild, hot and super-hot blends, the Brown Label is their newest release.

Lucky Dog Brown Label – Ridiculously Tasty Mustard Chipotle Hot Sauce

Lucky Dog Hot Sauce’s newest offering called Brown Label also has the amusingly long name of “Ridiculously Tasty Mustard Chipotle Hot Sauce”.

But Lucky Dog can be excused. In our opinion, you can name your sauce anything you want as long as you excel in flavor and taste.

A unique style of medium heat chipotle sauce, with the rich notes of Meco chipotles and a dynamic balance between mustard, chipotle and cumin. Bartlett pear juice and figs add very subtle sweetness, while the creeping heat of the scotch bonnet chile builds in heat in a slow & sneaky way. ~LDHS

And Lucky Dog Hot Sauce Brown Label is already winning awards from all over:

  • 1st Place Pepper Blend – 2015 New York Hot Sauce Expo Screaming Mimi Awards
  • 2nd Place Medium – 2016 Scovie Award Winner
  • Finalist – 2016 Good Food Awards – Pantry Division

The flavor profile is complex, yet the end result is simple and tasty. Deliciously smoky but not overpowering with just a hint of sweetness to balance things out.

Chef Fartenburn’s Gourmet Hot Sauce

From an award-winning chef comes this second silly-named hot sauce. But sometimes the cover belies the contents. This is another winner of delicious hot sauce flavor from Chef Wayne Howey.

Chef Fartenburn’s Gourmet Hot Sauce – from Tropical Island Gourmet

Tomatoes, peppers, onion and garlic flavors all say “taco sauce” to me. Despite the cartoon label (and the implied joke), this sauce won’t burn your butt.

It’s a blend of 3 classic peppers along with the right amount of vinegar, onion and garlic. Some mango juice is thrown in to make everything all nice and happy.

Heat Rating: Rated 3.5 out of 5 Stars – Thanks to the habaneros, the sting really lingers… but the cayenne and jalape├▒os along with the mango round things out nicely. Big heat for taco meat.

Overall Rating: Rated 3 out of 5 Stars – Thick and pulpy, this is a hot tomato based sauce that is perfect on tacos or burritos and the like. Bold and spicy taco-like sauce.

Ingredients: cayenne peppers, jalape├▒o peppers, habanero peppers, onions, vinegar, mango juice, mangos, tomatoes, roasted garlic, and salt.

Texture & Appearance: Deep red in color, slightly thick with lots of pulp and bits to chew on. Satisfying.

Taste / Heat: Tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic – the sweetness from the mangos is muted and acts only as a supporting player. This is not an overly sweet sauce. Hot and savory.

Volcanic Peppers LAVA Green Vulcan Hot Sauce review

The newest hot sauce to come from the mind of Tim Bader and Volcanic Peppers is LAVA Green Vulcan Hot Sauce.

Volcanic Peppers LAVA Green Vulcan Hot Sauce

Volcanic Peppers LAVA Green Vulcan Hot Sauce

Continuing his line of LAVA sauces, which include Raspberry Scorpion Hot Sauce, Chocolate Lightening Hot Sauce, and LAVA BBQ Sauces (Spicy and Hot Scorpion), Tim has crafted this “green” jalape├▒o based sauce that is bursting with flavor.

Green Vulcan is a flavor filled mild to medium sauce that is sure to please those looking for a lot of flavor and just a touch of heat… goes great on salads, tacos, in burritos or enchiladas… [it’s] also an exceptional salsa enhancer – just mix it in and taste the difference.

Pepperika 7 Pepper Hot Taco Seasoning Review

We really enjoyed writing our review of Pepperika 7 Pepper Hot Sauce. When we ordered the hot sauce, owner/creator Brian Westerfield included a nice surprise – 2 packs of his new Pepperika 7 Pepper Hot Taco Seasoning for review.
I jokingly told him it would have to stand up to my own Mega’s Taco Seasoning recipe.

True to the name, there are in fact 7 peppers listed in the ingredients of this little packet of taco seasoning.

Fire Ant Juice
Gourmet Hot Sauce

Fire Ant Juice from Tropical Island Gourmet Company http://www.fireantjuice.com is offering a free bottle of Hobo Howey’s Jalapeno Treats with any order until the end of August 2010. Read on to find out how you can get yours!

This sauce rocks! I think the name “Fire Ant Juice” is funny, and the graphics on the label are a hoot. I know “fire ants” are a species, but Fire Ant Juice reminds me of when I was a kid and there were ants, and I had a magnifying glass…. oops! Sorry PETA, I digress.

This sauce has a lot of body and doesn’t run when you pour it out. It’s slightly chunky with bits of jalapenos, onions, and garlic. Very fine bits. And it holds its shape even after 20 mins on the plate.

Marilyn and I tried this sauce first on a spoon, then on tortilla chips, then on tacos.

When we poured some onto a spoon, it was hot. HOT. But after a few sips, the initial heat went away and we were able to discern its qualities better.

We then tried it on some chips to get the flavor:

Marilyn: I tasted the cayenne first, with a big hit of the roasted garlic. The mango smoothed it out a little for me, making it a very savory taste with a nice bite of heat.
Brian: I like the habanero profile – very unique with the mango. Hot, sweet, and very spicy – the garlic and salt really rounded it all out for me – and I love the roasted garlic in it.

Fire Ant Juice has plenty of heat with great flavor – on a scale of 1 – 10, we’d put it at an 8. But the flavor is what won us over.

Then we poured a lot onto some tacos made with our own taco seasoning.

Fire Ant Juice Gourmet Hot Sauce Ingredients:
cayenne peppers, jalapeno peppers, habanero peppers, onions, vinegar, mango juice, tomatoes, roasted garlic, salt

As you can see from the simple list of ingredients, there are no added sugars, no “parentheses” listing preservatives or the popular “xanthan gum” etc, … in other words it’s a straight-up gourmet hot sauce done right.
Fire Ant Juice Gourmet Hot Sauce is a keeper that we will have on hand at all times. We think you’ll love it as much as we do.

To get a free bottle of Hobo Howey’s Jalapeno Treats, just place an order with FireAntJuice.com and in the comments section of your order, enter “Hot Sauce Daily” or “Hot Sauce Weekly” – owner Wayne Howey will take care of you!
