Evil Seed Sauce Company – Signature Hot Sauce and Hell Peach Hot Sauce

We were introduced to Evil Seed Sauce Company and owner Patrick McGill, by Steve Seabury of High River Sauces.

Steve and Patrick are old friends, and I trust Steve’s tastes and opinions. Patrick and I emailed back and forth a bit, and within a short time, we had our hands on a few samples of Evil Seed’s goodies.

Evil Seed Signature Hot Sauce

It’s hot. It’s a hot sauce. And it’s black! What a very cool concept. A first, as far as I know.

Scott Roberts brings us his hot sauce review of CaJohn’s Angry Cock Hot Sauce – a Ghost Chile based hot sauce. From CaJohn’s site:

What makes CaJohns Angry Cock hot sauce so ANGRY? First we start off with 80% fresh “Ghost Chile” puree, then we add a combination of select spices and a splash of vinegar which makes Angry Cock the most formidable of CaJohns extract free sauces yet! This hot sauce is not for the novice, and truthfully, not for your average Chilehead. Think you can take the heat, or are you chicken?

Finally, Brian and Marilyn talk about two events coming up that they are very excited about – Pork in the Park, a KCBS sanctioned event (the largest east of the Mississippi) and Peppers at the Beach 2012 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware at the world famous Peppers.com store.

Thanks for listening! Enjoy!

Hellacious Hot Sauce Review

Ken Alexander Reviews High River Sauces Hellacious Hot Sauce

As I’ve gotten to know folks in the Chilehead community, there is one thing I’ve learned. Without exception, the passion for flavor and heat flows through the veins of Chileheads everywhere. And if they are a sauce maker, nothing makes them happier than when someone tries and then likes their products. Well, Steve Seabury of High River Sauces should be happy right now, because I really like his inaugural hot sauce, Hellacious.

Jacs Tailgaters Bayou Blaze Habanero BBQ Sauce Review

Jac’s Tailgaters Bayou Blaze Habanero BBQ Sauce Review submitted by Ken Alexander

Jac’s Tailgaters Bayou Blaze Habanero BBQ Sauce: This Certified Cajun product hails from West Monroe, La.  Tracy and Kristi Carter have a good thing going with their unique line of sauces, mixes, and rubs, and after picking up a bottle of their original Bayou Blaze BBQ Sauce at the NOLA hot sauce show and quickly finishing it off, I had to try their Habanero BBQ Sauce. I was not disappointed.  I picked up a bottle at the recent Houston Hot Sauce Festival, and when Brian and I talked about me doing a guest review for HotSauceDaily, the timing was perfect.  I recently had a “wing night”, where I tried different sauces on plain wings, and this sauce stood out and screamed “review me”!  I appreciate Brian and Marilyn for giving me the opportunity to share with their audience on such a quality review site as HotSauceDaily.

Abrams Original BBQ Sauce Review

Continuing our series about Maryland based BBQ sauce companies, we present our review of Abrams Original BBQ Sauce from Laurel, Maryland.

Henri and Kim Abrams started their company the way many couples have, with a recipe and a backyard full of friends and family cheering them on to market their product to the masses. They are “passionate” about their product using only fresh ingredients, and their original “tangy” sauce is “perfect for those who prefer mild BBQ flavor with a hint of kick”.

In their own words,

Abrams BBQ was started from a dare. After years of cooking and encouraged by family and friends, we took a leap of faith. We went to community yard sales to see if others would enjoy our products and they were a success. We always sold out our stock of 100 within one hour! People were chomping at the bit for more! We knew we had a winner with our sauces and meat rub — try some, and you’ll agree!

For this review, we tried Abrams Original on both ribs and chicken wings. The results were incredibly good.
