Deception Salsa “Entice” review
Deception Salsa Entice is a mild Corn and Bean salsa that is just as sweet as their Tease flavor, with the added sweetness of corn. Our second review of the Deception Salsa line-up may surprise you.
Entice – a Sweet Corn and Black Bean lovers salsa
If you like your salsa sweet, and are a fan of corn and beans, this salsa is for you. This is the second in a series of reviews of the Deception Salsa line-up. Our first was the Level 5 (their rating) Tease Salsa.
Ingredients: tomato, corn, onion, seasoned black beans (prepared black beans, water, salt, onion powder, spices, maltodextrin, garlic powder, natural flavor), sugar, green bell pepper, jalapeño pepper, red hot cherry pepper, white distilled vinegar, habanero pepper, chili powder, citric acid, black pepper, cumin, garlic
Texture & Appearance: – A pretty salsa that would look great on any table. Very coarse, with lots of corn but not enough black beans. We rate it high on looks, but low on flavor.
Taste Straight Up: – Sweet, sweet, sweet. The corn only adds to the sweetness, and the black beans are too few. Of all the flavors from Deception Salsa, this has to be their “throw-away” salsa. It exists only to fill a niche, and that doesn’t include us. No corn for me, and more beans for Marilyn, please.
Heat Level: – The mild heat is short lived. This might work at a family gathering or cookout where friends or family would enjoy a milder, yet exotic looking salsa.
Overall Rating (Taste on Food, Final Thoughts): – In our opinion, it’s not the biggest player in their salsa lineup. It almost seems like it exists to please a small corn and bean contingent. We pass on this one.
While certainly not our favorite of the Deception Salsas, it is still a solid product with the same great branding and label. And based on the quality alone, it is worthy of your consideration for purchase.

I am the bean and corn salsa fan in this household, so I was looking forward to trying this. I prefer a more savory salsa however, and this was just a little too sweet for my taste. Add more beans and a little less corn, and you’ve got a winner on your hands! We’re looking forward to trying the remaining salsas in Deception’s line of products, as the samples we had at the NYC Hot Sauce Expo compelled us to purchase a case of their products, so I know there is more goodness to come.
I like corn and bean salsa.
