Dry rubbed chicken tenders on the Smokey Joe with Rayz Jerk and Spice Cave Wind rubs

Grilled chicken tenders with dry rubs are one of my favorite ways to play with new rubs and seasonings.
Today we’re using Rayz Hot Dry Rub (jerk style) and Spice Cave’s Wind rub.

Rayz Hot Dry Rub and Spice Cave Wind seasoning

I use a heavy hand when applying rubs to my meats – much to the chagrin of Marilyn.

But I will admit at times I do go a little overboard. But in this case, I think the rubs really shined.

Please enjoy the video, and we would love it if you would subscribe to our YouTube channel for more goodness!

Rayz Hot Dry Rub and Spice Cave Wind on Chicken Tenders

Rayz “Hot Dry Rub” and The Spice Cave “Wind” on grilled chicken tenders were both winners. Watch our video to see how good they look and taste!

Dry Rubbed Chicken Tenders with Rayz Hot Dry Rub and The Spice Cave Wind seasoning

You’ve surely heard Guy Fieri say “Winner, winner, chicken dinner”? Yup. When it comes to simple grilled chicken tenders over some good charcoal, you can do almost anything to them!

In this case, we’re using two nice rubs from our shelves.

Rayz Hot Dry Rub

Ingredients: rosemary, honey, allspice, scallions, brown sugar, vinegar, peppers, molasses, garlic, onion, thyme, nutmeg, salt.

Rayz Hot Dry Rub is a dry rub seasoning based on their popular Rayz Jerk Jam product.

The heat level is: Rated 2 out of 5 Stars – just shy of 2.5 on our heat scale. Very spicy but enjoyable by all.

The Spice Cave Wind

Ingredients: dehydrated vegetables, garlic, onions, parsley, himalayan pink salt, spices,
orange peel, chili pepper flakes.

Part of a 4 pack of spices from Kickstarter… The Spice Cave has quite a selection of spice rubs.

“Wind is an herbaceous blend for anything that flies.” So, we’re putting it on chicken.

Rated 1 out of 5 Stars – No heat to speak of. It’s basically an “everything bagel” type of seasoning. But delicious!

Mikey V’s Smoked Bacon Salsa

A huge hit at the latest NYC Hot Sauce Expo, Mikey V’s Smoked Bacon Salsa was a sell-out. But I managed to get a couple of jars just before they ran out.

mikey v's bacon salsa

Mikey V’s new Smoked Bacon Salsa features Rentsch Brewery’s Weizenbock Beer

Ingredients: Tomatoes, Beer, Onions, Jalapeño peppers, Lime juice, Fresh garlic, Cilantro, Spices, Natural bacon flavoring, Pure cane sugar, Kosher salt, Black pepper, Spices, Cumin.

If you look at those ingredients – that’s pretty much how the flavors come out.

This delicious salsa has a distinct yet mild beer flavor coupled with fresh tasting onions and garlic. Jalapeños bring on the little heat that it offers.

The smoked bacon flavor comes from a natural bacon flavoring ingredient. I appreciate this, as I wouldn’t want pieces of cooked bacon in my salsa. I’m ok with the flavor of it though, and I like a little natural smoke flavor if it’s in small doses.

The pure cane sugar adds a nice sweetness to the overall flavor – I do like a sweet base in my salsas and sauces.

This is one of those “WOW” salsas that everyone will love! I couldn’t stop eating it as I write this review!

Texture & Appearance: Rated 5 out of 5 Stars – Chunky. Lots of tomato, onion, garlic and jalapeño pieces.

Heat Level: Rated 1 out of 5 Stars – Nice mild tingle. Just enough heat for everyone.
