It’s hard to find a commercial BBQ rub that is better than anything you can whip up at home from your spice cabinet. But C-Dub’s Rub is an exception.
Sweet, savory, garlicy… this rub has it all.
Texture & Appearance: This is a finely ground rub. With great color and a great blend and definition, this rub is in a class by itself. C-Dub’s is head and shoulders above the rest.
Taste: C-Dub’s packs a punch of flavor. Salty and sweet. Oregano and cayenne come out… followed by garlic and onion. A very well-rounded blend. We rubbed some chicken breasts before grilling on the George Foreman grill.
Heat Level: Mild. Not a spicy rub – just great all-around flavor.
They do offer a VooDoo Rub that we’ve not opened or sampled yet:
Label/Graphics: The dark label could be brighter… maybe more colors too. It’s hard to read the text around the longhorn head. Apparently there is also a lobster and pig head in the oval of the label. Again, I would not have noticed these if Marilyn had not pointed them out. But then I’m color blind.
Ironically, the photo above clearly shows the text, lobster and pig, but on the actual label I still have trouble seeing them. Marilyn agrees, as the label is much smaller than that photo.
Overall Rating: I’m giving this rub my highest rating as I think it really is a great product.
Ingredients: garlic, onion, spices, salt, sugar and pepper
C-Dubs Rub is available in the Regular 2.6 oz size pictured here, as well as the Weekender 5.5 oz and Ultimate Griller 12 oz sizes in addition to a special Combo Pack of 4 oz with a 4 oz VooDoo Rub. Personally I’d like to see them offer a full 1 lb. bag or bottle. This stuff is that good!
