Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri Launches New Line of Barbeque Sauces and Salsas

Just in time for summer grilling, Guy Fieri launches new line of Barbeque sauces and Salsas

Chef Guy Fieri, star of Food Network shows “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” and “Guy’s Big Bite,” has launched his first-ever line of barbeque sauces and salsas. From Bourbon Brown Sugar Barbeque Sauce to 7 Pepper Salsa, the chef, restaurateur and best-selling author is bringing his rockin’ flavors to thousands of supermarkets across America, as well as serving them up in his restaurants Johnny Garlic’s California Pasta Grill and Tex Wasabi’s Rock-n-Roll Sushi BBQ.

The four Guy Fieri barbeque sauces contain no fat, cholesterol or high fructose corn syrup; three of the sauces are also gluten-free. “I’ve eaten barbeque all over the country, so when I developed these sauces, I drew inspiration from coast to coast,” says Fieri, the barbeque enthusiast and author of the new book, New York Times best-seller Guy Fieri Food. “These sauces add big, off da hook flavor, whether you’re craving a smoky, sweet, or tangy twist.”

Guy Fieri's New BBQ Sauces
Among the new Guy Fieri barbeque sauces:

* Pacific Rim Barbeque & Wok Sauce: Wok & Sauce – Guy’s Pacific Rim BBQ & Wok Sauce is great on its own or as an off-the-hook wok sauce. Sweet ginger, some chile heat, nutty sesame and soy sauce are a rockin’ combination for stir fry, pork ribs, salmon or shrimp.
* Kansas City Barbeque Sauce: Smoky & Sweet – Guy’s Kansas City BBQ Sauce is your traditional, go-to sauce that you’ll dig on just about everything. Sweet, smoky molasses, a hint of apple cider vinegar and a little black pepper heat will rock everything from beef brisket to chicken wings or anything else you can throw on a grill. Gluten free.
* Carolina #6 Barbeque Sauce & Marinade: Mop & Slop – Guy’s Carolina #6 BBQ Sauce & Marinade is the perfectly tangy and versatile “mop & slop” sauce. Apple cider vinegar, sweet brown sugar and a little bit of cayenne pepper heat is a rockin’ combination to be slopped right on pulled pork or used as a marinade or baste for any grilled meat. Gluten free.
* Bourbon Brown Sugar Barbeque Sauce: Sweet & Sticky – Guy’s sweet, sticky Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce rocks on just about anything. Smoky bourbon, sweet brown sugar and a hint of spicy black pepper create off-the-hook flavor that’s a perfect compliment to everything from beef to chicken, pork and seafood. Gluten free.

Guy Fieri's New Salsas

As a big-time chile pepper fan, Fieri created four varieties of salsa in his signature style:

* Chipotle Salsa: Da $pice Is Right – Guy’s Chipotle Salsa is full of smoky chipotle and the super salsa flavors of tomato, garlic, lime and a touch of jalapeño pepper! Medium
* Original Salsa: Old Skool – Guy’s original salsa is his go-to signature salsa, full of big tomato flavor, cilantro and zesty lime with a touch of hot pasilla pepper… it’s off da hook! Medium
* 7 Pepper Salsa: Burn Baby Burn – Guy’s 7 Pepper Salsa is rockin’ big pepper flavor from red bell to habanero and finishes it all off with a balance of tomato, lime, garlic and cilantro. Hot
* Salsa Verde: Green & Mean – Guy’s Salsa Verde is servin’ up fire roasted poblano and green peppers and backin’ it up with zesty lime and pinch of cumin, this salsa is so “money” it’s green! Mild

Guy Fieri barbeque sauces are available in 19-ounce bottles (Carolina #6 is 18-ounces) for a suggested retail price of $4.29. Fieri’s salsas are available in 16-ounce jars for a suggested retail price of $4.79.

  1. What I’m curious about is if he had anything to do with the creation of them? By the sounds of GIA, they just slap a celebrity label on whatever products they want and put them on the market and give that celebrity a comission.

    1. I’ll have to look into that, Mike. It’s a good point. Another unfortunate truth is in the hot sauce world, anyone with enough cash can go to a co-packer, select the flavor profile they like, and boom!, they have a line of sauces that looks to be their creation.
(Not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

  2. I actually like Guy Fieri, and most of his shows. I question a product like this however based on my usually trends on buying bbq sauce. So many sauces start with high fructose corn syrup. I tend to only find smaller label brands to have an actual tomato base and the flavors speak volumes above the main stream sugar sauces. My guess is that this will be like the other big label brands. Just my $.02.

    1. I too like Guy. Diners, Drive-ins and Dives is a kick ass show. I just wish they would let up on the heavy editing, and actually show us a recipe or two now and then. And the word is, once Guy and DDD hits a joint, they get SLAMMED for weeks. But that’s another post. And don’t get me started on “Minute to Win It”… sheesh!

What are a couple of your favorite small batch bbq sauces?

      1. Me and my lady hit up one of Guy’s Drive In’s. The place was called Paradise Pups northwest of Chicago for a famed Cheddar Burger from a tiny food stand. The wait in line was approx. 40 minutes but according to the show, that was about the going rate day to day.

The burger was fantastic and certainly didn’t disappoint. It truly was a special little spot with a very unique and awesome burger. The whole experience felt special and fun.

An example of a smaller label sauce that I recently tried is one from a restaurant called “Super Smokers BBQ” located near St. Louis. http://www.supersmokers.com/index.html
Their sauce popped up in our local grocery store for some reason. Good stuff. Worth a try.

  3. Btw, I take back what I said about the ingredients. just found them at my local grocer, they look great. I look forward to the review.

  4. I probably won’t buy them any time soon because my sauce fridge in the garage is 100% full. I’ve sworn off buying any new sauces until I empty that. Or at least “half empty” it.

    1. Sworn off, eh? Ha! Let me know how long THAT lasts! Hehe.

Once in a while, as *painful* as it is, I have to go through and weed out the “dead soldiers”. See my Fridge Cleanout post.

  5. My husband and I were very happy when Tex Wasabi’s re-opened in Santa Rosa a few weeks back. That was the first time we tasted his new BBQ sauces. We were served condiments with our BBQ and sushi meals. We tried all four flavors that night. My favorite was the Brown Sugar and Bourbon. When I went back a week or so later with some friends, I asked for the Brown Sugar and Bourbon sauce because our condiment holder didn’t have any. Not a bottle in the restaurant to be found. I’d say that flavor was a big hit! Anyone know what grocery stores are carrying the sauces?

    1. I have a friend in Illinois that bought the sauces at a “Hi-Vee” grocery store… I’ve never heard of it out here in Maryland. I’ve not seen the sauces show up yet in our local SuperFresh, but we do have a Harris Teeter nearby that I’ve not checked yet.

If anyone reading this knows what stores are carrying the Guy Fieri sauces, please let us know.

  6. Hello have been looking all over for recipes using his new sauce specifically The Pacific Rim? Anyone? I even started peeling the label off to see if they were under there HA HA…. Thank you

Got mine at Costco, but only carries the Pacific Rim..

  7. I have tried all four sauces that I picked up from HyVee here in Illinois and the best one by far is the Bourbon Brown Sugar sauce. It has a real nice heat on the back end that lingers and the bourbon and brown sugar are balanced really well. The Pac rim sauce is better used as a marinade and even then it’s lacking, like a flat cola, just not right. The KC sauce is about par, nothing special and the Carolina just doesn’t “pop” like a vinegar sauce should. I’m definitely keeping the Bourbon one in the rotation.

  8. What a waste of money.. I purchased a bottle hoping for a real salsa in the northeast area. I just wasted $7 on a jar or sludge that tasted like it had as much flavor as my local water. Personally I am sick of these so called chefs using someone elses product to sell thier name and make money. I also recently went to bobby flays resteraunt and was so disapointed we left after two bites of expensive food.

  9. My husband and I LOVED the “Old Skool” salsa. Only problem is the store we purchased at no longer has it…..
